Origin Asian Bistroboasts two locations in Miami, one on Key Biscayne at the corner of Crandon Boulevard and Key Colony Road, and the other on South Dixie Highway (US 1) in South Miami close to the shops at Sunset.  The Key Biscayne location has outdoor and indoor seating, with a small pool of water to decorate the balcony.

Diners can get started with some Asian appetizers -- vegetable summer rolls, shrimp spring rolls, grilled or fried calamari, blackened cod fish, or lamb ribs with Asian BBQ sauce.  A wide variety of soups, salads, and noodles also pad the menu, including red clam miso soup, duck salad, egg noodles, pad Thai chicken, Origin fried rice, and green curry fried rice; $6-$15.

Chef specialities include the Charred Chilean Sea Bass for $27, the Roasted Crispy Duck for $20, and the Crispy Whole Red Snapper for $24.  Other yummy entrees are the Wok Lobster Tail, Wok Filet Mignon, Ahi Tuna Two Way, and Sauteed Squid, $16-$27.

Entrees include stir-fry dishes and curry dishes that allow  you to  pick your own sauce and meat.  Stir-fry choices are chicken, beef, shrimp, or tofu in either ginger black bean sauce, garlic pepper sauce, or cashew nut sauce, $12-$17.  If you like curry, you've got a choice of chicken, steak, shrimp, filet, lobster tail, duck, salmon, tofu, calamari, or scallops in red curry, green curry, Malaysian yellow curry, or Panang curry; $13-$25.

If you're a sushi-lover, don't miss the $13 Cancun roll (shrimp tempura, avacado, cream cheese, masago, tomato salsa, spicy mayo, wrapped in tortilla) and the $16 Surf-n-Turf roll (shrimp, avacado, sweet pepper, cilantro inside, topped with filet mignon), both said to be exclusive to Origin.

Ask how many pieces come with your roll.  The Cancun and the Surf-n-Turf are both large, about 10 pieces each.  The $13 Dancing Eel Roll (inside-out California roll with layered eel and masago) and the $10 Exotic Roll (tuna, crab, shrimp, and mango) are other visitor favorites.  Many varieties of rolls and sashimi are available.  View the sushi menu here.

The lunch menu has limited options, smaller portions, and lower prices.  If you don't see what you want, you can always order from the main menu.  Beverages include soft drinks, tea, juice, coffee, espresso, a few beers and sake.
