Books and Books seems to have all you need from your local bookstore — culture, food, drinks, and books.

Literary event are happening at Books and Books locations several times a week.  Authors, journalists, photographers, poets, artists, editors, you name it, Books and Books has 'em.  Click here to see upcoming author events

Allen Ginsberg, Kurt Vonnegut, Margaret Atwood, Dave Barry, Judy Blume, Walter Cronkite, and President Bill Clinton are among the figures that have stopped by Books and Books for readings, signings, and appearances.  The independent bookstore also supports local South Florida writers, who frequent the store for public talks and demonstrations.

The outdoor cafe at the Coral Gables location is a perfect setting to meet friends and discuss books, politics, music, and art.  You can also have a beer or a glass of wine — the perfect addition to any literary gathering.

On the first Friday of every month, the Coral Gables location features local, national, and international artists' work.  The Coral Gables Gallery Night lasts from 7-10 p.m., and usually entertains guests with live music.

The South Beach location on Lincoln Road deserves a visit as well.  Its newly designed interior is filled with tall bookshelves, natural light, and cozy seating.  If you want a delicious snack at the cafe, try the avacado salsa or the fresh hummus.

Books and Books was founded by Miami native Mitchell Kaplan in 1982 and now has three Miami locations (Coral Gables, South Beach, and Bal Harbour) and one store in the Cayman Islands.
