Archie's Gourmet Pizza is a fun and tasty spot where the staff takes pride in their food and their service.

Beneath the high ceilings inside Archie's, expect to find several flat screen TVs airing sports, sitcoms, news and more. You won't be disappointed by their music selection either. The decor is a mix of expected pizza-parlor dining, with checkered red tablecloths and beer on tap, but the lights are low, the bar is dark-stained wood, and the setting is sensual.

With a large selection of salads, gourmet pizzas, calzones, bruschetta, panini, pastas and lasagnas, any Italian food lover can find a dish to dig into.

Your server will bring complimentary bread with peppered olive oil for dipping. Kick start your appetite with spinach dip, eggplant casserole, or salmon carpaccio, all $10 each.

Order a full or half salad. If you're sharing a pizza with someone, a half salad and regular pizza will be plenty of food for two — you'll probably even have some leftover. Tasty salad options include the Thai salad, steak salad, Ceasar, grilled calamari, Greek salad, citrus salad and more, $6-$14.

Gourmet Archie's original pizzas are mouthwatering. The mixture of toppings are surprisingly delightful. The Pico de Gallo pizza has pico de gallo, avocado, sweet corn and bacon, $13. The Brie & Apples is topped with brie and mozzarella cheese and slices of green apples. The Archie's features mozzarella cheese with pepperoni, prosciutto, ham and salami, $14.

Classic pizzas include Hawaiian, Margherita, Italian sausage and green peppers, BBQ chicken and mushrooms, and fresh vegetables, $11-$14.

If you're not in the mood for pizza, Archie's paninis and calzones are delectable alternatives. Try the pastrami salmon panini, prosciutto and mozzarella panini or the grilled chicken and roasted red pepper panini, $11.

Calzones are a hearty meal, also. Order the four cheese, the Archie's (pepperoni, prosciutto, salami, ham and mozzarella), the fresh vegetables (mozzarella cheese, black olives, broccoli, red peppers, onions, artichoke hearts and mushrooms), or the California (swiss and mozzarella cheese, cherry tomatoes, caramelized onions and mushrooms), $12-$14.

Pasta lovers rejoice in the formaggi ravioli in pink sauce, lobster and crab ravioli in sun dried tomato sauce, smoked salmon gnocchi, fettuccine alfredo and the classic spaghetti and meatballs, $12-$15.

If you're still hungry for more, try the tiramisu dessert, $7. The chocolate brownie with vanilla ice cream is another favorite for your sweet tooth, $7.

Archie's Pizza will deliver for a $2 fee if you're in their area. Other locations include Coral Gables, Aventura and Doral.
