Balans: yummy eats, delicious drinks
At Balans, happy hour is nightly until 8 p.m., with 2-for-1 cocktails and half price wines. Cocktails are $11 and wine starts at $7 per glass. Sit outside under the umbrellas and enjoy live music on the weekend. Whether Balans has a DJ or a live jazz quartet, the music is always pleasing. On Friday and Saturday the Balans bar is open until 4 a.m.
Share a pitcher of margaritas, Long Island ice tea, sangria or planters punch with friends. Specialty cocktails include the espresso martini, passion margarita, lychee champagne, summertime Collins, peach fuzz, berry cosmopolitan and more. They also have a respectable selection of wine, champagne, beer, teas and coffee.
After a fun night out on the town, try Balans' weekend brunch. This delicious menu will cure your hangover blues. Choose between fresh fruit smoothies, pancakes or french toast with fresh bananas or strawberries, eggs any way you like them, sandwiches, omelettes, pastas, salads, coffees, teas, and of course cocktails.
The dinner menu has lots of options, and Balans creates each dish with care. Start off with a salad, a Greek platter, fried calamari, seared scallops or teriyaki beef skewers. At dinnertime you'll get complimentary bread with a delicious olive sauce before your meal.
For an entree, try the chicken or shrimp Thai red curry for $16, with stir fried scallions, peppers, spices, roasted peanuts and coconut cream on jasmine rice. The chicken, spinach and ricotta cannelloni is another favorite for $15. Other pasta favorites include the pumpkin tortellini, Indonesian noodles and the veal chop milanese. If you're in the mood for fish, try the Chilean sea bass or the Indian inspired tilapia channa masala dish. Other options include the mouth-watering rack of lamb, the 18 ounce rib eye and the 10 ounce filet mignon. Entree prices range from $9 to $36.
Balans is a London chain that has spread its love to sunny Miami. With locations at Brickell, Key Biscayne and South Beach, this restaurant and lounge is a great place to meet up with friends or meet new friends.
