Miami's Best Pizza: family and taste-bud friendly

Miami's Best Pizza is a family-friendly pizza joint close to the University of Miami's campus in Coral Gables.  On Friday and Saturday nights, expect to see a crowd of carry-out customers waiting for pick-up, along with a few sports teams dining in the open seating section.  Kids can enjoy an arcade game while waiting on their meals.

Order a speciality pizza like Margherita, Greek, BBQ Chicken, Miami Special, Super Hawaiian, or California Dreaming.  Make your own perfect combination from toppings like pepperoni, chicken, beef, ham, anchovies, meatballs, pepperoncini, mushrooms, onions, black or green olives, sundried tomatoes, basil, spinach, artichokes, capers, broccoli (there are more, but you get the picture).  You even have a choice of cheese!

Miami's Best, which has been in the pizza game since 1970, offers provolone, gorgonzola, swiss, feta, goat, and more cheese varieties.  Prices correspond to the number of toppings ordered.  The "small" 10-inch pizzas start at $5.90 and the 16-inch extra-large starts at $13.40.

For an extra dollar, go with a whole wheat crust or a garlic crust for a new twist.  Thick or thin?  Tell them how you like it.

For about $7 you can munch on spaghetti, fettuccini, ravioli or lasagna.  Small salads are $4-$6 and large salads are $7-$9.

Sub sandwiches such as chicken parmesan, italian, meatball, club, tuna (and more) sell for under $7 for footlongs and under $5 for a 6-inch.  Typical desserts and appetizers are also available: garlic rolls, cheese sticks, hot wings, cheesecake, key lime pie, cookes, etc.  Overwhelmed?  View the menu here.

No alcoholic beverages here, but plenty of options of teas, juices, and fountain drinks should quench your thirst. Ask about catering, birthday party specials, UM student discounts, group disounts, and senior citizen discounts.
