Sushi Siam: taste explosion on Brickell Avenue
Sushi Siam opened in Brickell in October 2009. The inside is tastefully decorated, with a large ornate sculpture dominating the back wall. The colors are deep browns and the chandeliers are gold and glittering.
Seating is available indoors and outdoors. The outdoor patio is even shaded most of the day, making it a great Brickell Avenue spot to enjoy lunch or dinner with friends. The restaurant can accommodate large groups and parties.
The wait staff is friendly, and if you're overwhelmed with the number of menu items, they can definitely offer you some tips and recommendations. If you're brave, you can even let them pick your meal for you. I did, and I was extremely happy with the results.
The Thai soups are a great way to start your meal. They can be quite hearty, with chicken and mushrooms and the perfect amount of spice.
The menu has lunch options, including sushi combinations and lunch portions of Thai favorites. The chicken Thai curry is especially yummy, and the lunch portion is only $11. You can order most Thai dishes in mild, medium or hot and with chicken, tofu, pork or shrimp. Even the lunch portion was large, and the wait staff won't mind boxing up what you can't finish.
This restaurant has a very large variety of Japanese and Thai dishes. The menu is expansive, and although there isn't a menu online or to-go as of now, if you're a fan of sushi, Japanese or Thai, Sushi Siam will have something you like.
Hopefully as the restaurant is open longer, Sushi Siam will make use of the large outdoor dining area and invite musicians to entertain dinner guests.
You can order your meal for take-out or dine at the restaurant.
