Novecento Brickell: a happy hour favorite
Located on Brickell Avenue at the Financial District stop on the Brickell Metromover loop, Novecento draws a crowd for happy hours and late dinners.
Outdoor seating is popular at Novecento; you'll find romantic tables for two, lounge areas for larger groups, and even a cabana for a feeling of privacy.
Waiters normally bring out bread before your meal, which makes me happy as a diner.
The food at Novencento is part Latin, part Italian, part American. There's a little bit of everything here. One person at your table can order a hamburger, another can have chicken curry, and another can have the Miami favorite skirt steak with chimichurri sauce.
The lunch menu has entrees ranging from $10 to $20. Guests frequently rave about Novecento's empanadas; you can order beef, chicken or spinach and cheese.
Dinner entrees range from $10 to $25, and entrees are big enough to share, especially if you start off with a delicious calamari appetizer.
Novecento stocks a full bar, and happy hour is Monday through Thursday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Friday noon to 7 p.m. Enjoy 2-for-1 drinks and music from a live DJ. Cocktails and glasses of wine are normally about $9, and beer is about $6. On Tuesday patrons receive a 50% discount on the wine list.
Be aware that a 15% service charge is added to your check automatically. Service can be slow if you are dining during a peak hour, so sit back and relax.
If you have a big group, you may want to make online reservations to reserve your spot.
