Tropical Chinese uses a Hong Kong cooking style and fresh ingredients to bring guests back again and again.  Lined with soft red Chinese lanterns in dim lighting, white table cloths and servers dressed all in black, the restaurant leaves you feeling cozy, comfortable and ready to explore the diverse menu.
Chefs work behind clear glass, and you can watch your meal being cooked between leaping flames.
You can start off with some hot tea, vegetable spring rolls, or the chicken  wrapped in paper.  The Dim Sum menu, featured at lunch time, is legendary.
The main menu features a wide variety of items, including appetizers, soups, shrimp, chicken, beef, seafood, scallops and clams, duck, vegetables and tofu, rice, lo-mein noodles, pan-fried noodles, chow fun noodles, pork, lobster, fish, abalone & sea cucumber, and even shark's fin.
The Peking Duck for two is the restaurant's top seller.  At $39, this dish is both an appetizer and a main course, and the wait staff carves it for you right at the table.  This Long Island duck is freshly roasted and wrapped with scallion, cucumber and Chinese pancakes.
Each meal finishes with a sweet treat; pieces of grapefruit topped with a cherry and fortune cookies leave you with a satisfying citrus taste in your mouth.
Hours vary by day. Dim Sum hours are Monday-Friday 11:30 a.m.- 3 p.m., Saturday 11 a.m. -3:30 p.m., and Sunday 10:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.  Dinner hours are Monday-Thursday 5:30-10:30 p.m., Friday-Saturday 5-11 p.m., and Sunday 3:30-10 p.m.
If you're worn out from your day, call in an order to-go and pick it up.
