Artist Bio
Raul Cremata was born in Havana, Cuba in 1960 and immigrated to the New York City in 1967 where he was exposed to great art at an early age. Cremata was taken under the wing of Cuban artist Lesver de Quiros and
in the mid 80’s Raul studied ceramic sculpture with Rafael Consuegra, well known ceramist & sculptor.
Cremata is known for his masterful use of color, his joyful nostalgic paintings of "bodegones", and of women adorned with turbans and accessories.
Raul Cremata has been a fixture of the Miami art scene for more than 25 five years, not only as an artist but also as an avid collector. Currently he owns Cremata Gallery, a gallery specializing in Cuban and Latin American art. Mr. Cremata is also the president of the “Calle 8 Art District Association”, a member of the board of “Viernes Culturales” and of “Friends of Little Havana”.
