Downtown Academy of Technology & Arts Reviews

At first I was impressed with DATA, I found the staff and administration warm and accessable. However, since the staff has radically changed I can no longer have confidance in the new administration. Mr.Di Sebastion was a man with a history of success and experience. He was well educated and motivated us all. his qualifications reached a pinnacle of expectation and he will be missed by many.

Before DATA I was so afraid for my child, and his attitude toward school, but the teachers and staff at the downtown academy touched my child in such a way, his grades improved immensely, and his attitude in general is a lot less bleak. It is certainly a shame that they do not continue until High School. Thank you DATA for your dedication to my child.

DATA is a great school. The teachers are always willing to help the kids. The Principal is also great with the kids. They all love him. I had never experience the kind of relationship with teachers that I have at this school. The Administration is wonderful. I am so glad my child attends DATA and will hate when the time comes to leave.

DATA is a wonderful school, the people there really care about the kids and go above and beyond for them all the time. Administration is excellent and very creative in making the best use of what they have. When they manage to move into their own facility rather than renting space I believe this school will have people clamoring to get in.

I appreciate DATA. The staff, although concise in numbers, is an exceptional group of people. The art program is exemplary, not outclassed by any other school in the county. It won the greatest number of entries by one school in the Scholastic Art Awards. The students have the opportunity to travel to Europe and study art in Rome, Venice... Although it does not yet have a facility equipped with room for PE, the students have all downtown at their disposal to walk and explore. Many performances at the Broward Center are included in their program as well as frequent trips to the area museums and parks. I have seen first hand DATA rising from a struggling, fledgling charter school, to an A+ school that will be awarded National Honors in Washington D.C. for the CER awards! Small, esoteric and intimate, DATA is a school that makes an impact!

The Downtown Academy have been amazing with my child, the art program is fantastic to say the least. The new Assistant principal handles the discipline artistically. Only issue I have is the PE program, the school needs a larger student population in order to move into a facility that can offer a decent PE program.
