Sunset Christian Academy Reviews

I have been a parent of this school since 1992. Starting from my eldest who is 19. She started when she was 2 years old until she graduated in 8th. Grade. My 12 year old and my 5 year also started attending since they were 2. I can say with all honesty that I feel that my children have received an excellent education that has prepared them for a future full of opportunities. My eldest daughter is now in her second year of College and I know that Sunset Christian Academy has had a big part in her growth, educationally as well as spiritually. The teachers have always been supportive, loving and nurturing throughout all these years. I have seen my children excel and the love they have for God. I fully support the staff and am very proud of them. They are doing a great job.

My daughter is very happy at the school and the teachers. I like the school teaching, but since last year they have implemented new changes not so positive for the parents. First in this tought economic times they have decided to change all the uniforms making the parents spend more money, second the lunches the raise the price , not only is non resonable but unhealthy!... Very unhealty. Now the drop of and pick up of the kids it may seem safetier according to the staff. But it will be very complicated once again for us the parents the traffic after school will increase this is not a very good idea. This changes have became too often to soon complicated for us all the parents. I am very happy with the teachings, but the leadership i am questioning!... Is this only about money or making it simple and focus on the teaching !>>

I am dissapointed too with the amount of kids in kindergarten - 25. Also I do not like the car drop - off / pick-up system: it is time consuming, and it makes worst the already present traffic chaos in Sunset entrance. On top of that, the school is now 'Peanut Butter Free'. The school could make special accomodations for the allergic child, instead of sacrificing the majority of the students and parents. The food that is offered for lunch is mostly 'junk food'

My son started in Sunset Christian last year for Pre-K 4. The teachers are wonderful and the principal is super nice! This year i am a little dissapointed with the amount of students in Kinder 25 per class. Being that this is not a public school is the amount of kids per class is too much. Never seen a secuity in grounds. Concerned Parent

My daughter is in PK4 class and has gained so much knowledge this past year. Her teacher Mrs. Linda is fabulous. My daughter loves to go to school, and wants to attend on Saturday and Sunday also. The program for reading is great, it teaches them phonics and she is now reading all three letter words. They visit the chapel once a week and she sings songs about God and ask lots of questions about Him. This school is great!!!

My sister and I started out at SCA in 1998 when I was in first grade and she was in Pre-K. I went all the way through till 8th grade. The staff is the best and cares so much for the students. I grew up with my class from first grade and we became a big family. I graduated in 2006 and I really miss it there. SCA was a part of my life I will never forget. I highly recommend this school to anyone.

My daughter attends SCA since third grade, it is a wonderful school, the principal is very enthusiastic, the teachers are great, the classrooms are very clean and neat. My daughter is now in middle school and they have an accelerated math program which is great, she is doing awesome (even though she used to hate math) they really push the kids to get the most of them. I would really recommend this school.

My son just started 2nd grade. And so far it has been a wonderful experience with the teacher, students and principle. I love the fact that he is studying Christian bible. Everyone in the office is helpful. This school is very loving.
