Gateway Christian School Reviews

Love, Love this school. Gateway and its staff make you feel like you are part of a 'family'. The school has small class sizes, wonderful and caring teachers, and an excellent sports program for elementary children. They have an excellent curriculum and one of the teachers created an excellent writing program. I am very impressed with the school. My kids love going and they love their teachers!

Excellent school. My child has truly learned a lot this year. He had a wonderful teacher who made his first year of school enjoyable and successful (pre-k 3). The teachers are warm, enthusiastic, and truly care about their students. The elementary teachers put a lot of time into each individual student. I would highly recommend this school to anyone who wants a good education for their child and wants small classroom sizes.

Educationally and morally it is an excellent school. Teachers rate from Good to Excellent with one or two exceptions. For a small school it has a comprehensive after-school program set. Strategically it is a disaster waiting to happen as there seem to be no long term goals. We have seen Excellent Principals come and go. They report to the Pastor who controls every move and this seems to be a problem, since the school funds are used by the Church at will. Upcoming 6th graders were to be charged a very high fee up front and when parents complained, Gateway reverted to the normal fee scheduling. Now there will not be a 6th grade since not enough students are registering. A few years ago I also heard about the possibility of expanding Gateway to 8th grade, but this did not happen. What a shame, this school has great potential.

My daughter has been in Gateway since PK2 and I can say that the teachers have instilled a love for learning in her. My daughter is always eager to go to school. The staff and faculty are very warm and friendly. it is a small school which gives it a nice family feel. The principal for the last 2 years has really changed the school for the better. It is a great starter school. On the other hand, it does lack simple resources. The school needs to keep up with the times....technology is the future! Though it has a small computer lab, i believe that the classrooms should all be equipped with at least 2 or 3 computers, the library needs to be adequately filled. Perhaps if the church would help the school, maybe the school would be resourcefully much better After all, it is not cheap!

The school has changed since my kids started there over 7 years ago. It has the sports that it had lacked in 2005 and it now has advanced slightly adding computer class and plenty of extracurricular activities. The school is expensive and unfortunately, most of the money goes to the church and not enough to the teachers salaries, nor to the advancement in technology, such as smart boards, televisions etc...If it weren't for parent donations, the school would be in shambles. Perhaps, the Pastor should consider making more funding available to the school that keeps his church alive!

My son has been attending Gateway for the past 4 weeks. He is already writing so much better (he's only 4) and extremely motivated to go to school. His teachers are all so kind and they teach the children values as well as an intense curriculum. I could not have picked a better school for him. Gateway is truly like family.

Gateway is an excellent school. The school has lots of sports and extracurricular activities such as: Baseball, soccer, basketball, volleyball and flag football. Also, they offer karate, cheerleading, ceramics, and drawing classes. The curriculum they follow is the abeka, which is excellent. The kids go to church for half an hour every morning and learn the best christian teachings and values. Lastly, the teachers are also very warm, professional, challenging and caring, and so is the staff and overall environment at the school. My son goes to this school, and he can't be happier!!!

My 2 girls love to go to school in the morning. The teachers are wonderful and the school itself feels like a family. I recommend this school to everyone.

This is a very wholesome school with great academics. The follow the beka system and have had great success. Fantasctic anchor teachers which make the school run. Some of the auxilary teachers are not the schools best asset. The tuition is average.

Gateway is an awesome school. It is safe, teaches your child at a very high and advanced level of academic that by the time your child is in kinder they are reading way above 1st grade/2nd grade level. This school does have it's downsides. 1) There is no financial aid available for families 2)Their new director I believe has not been up to par with the director that left about 2 years ago, the sports program is terribly lacking and so is the Spanish program.

We are so happy in this school. My children are so excited to go to school in the morning. The education is exceptional and the teachers are 'heaven sent'. The student-teacher ratio is an average of 15 or less to one teacher. The extracurricular activies is growing but does need a bit of help. The sports program is ok but needs a bit more involvement. Overall, it's a safe environment full of love and just plain great people and children. We could not be happier there.

The school changed directors two years ago and is now beginning to move foward.

great little school, excellent curriculum, however the spanish program is terrible. And I believe children in our society and our city are handicapped without the spanish language.

Gateway Christian is an excellent starter school. It has very small class sizes and wonderful, caring and safe atmosphere. The A-Beka curriculum is very good. By the time your child graduates Kinder they will be reading at about a 2nd grade level. The only downside I find to this school is they don't have a good spanish program, only 45 minutes per week and the program itself is extremely weak. My child has learned -0- spanish at school. Also the sports/physical education area of the school is greatly lacking as well. Everything else is wonderful.

I enjoyed how GOD was put first in my childs life. She spoke alot about the Bible which made us want our daughter to continue going to this school. The teachers and staff were also very special in my daughters heart. Thanks....
