Alexander Montessori School Reviews

Awful experience, the cirriculum looks wonderful on paper and I was excited to send my child through their program but when it came time to deliver I was not impressed-it is true to the montessori method. I agree with a previous reviewer. It is a cold environement at an expensive price. Would search elsewhere before sending my child to this school

An amazing preschool experience. Yes, expensive but worth it. The teachers dedication and commitment to each childs needs is amazing. Both our sons attend. Children reamin with the same teacher for 3 years providing them comfort and a sense of belonging that allows them to excel. They learn at their pace but very structured. Both boys have learned to read by age 4. Aside from academics, the manners, independence and responsibility practiced and enforced daily are priceless! Most recent is awareness to 'go green'. The parent involvement is like no other- dads included. The smile on their faces says it all!

Absolutely awful experience. Would not recommend this school to anyone. From what I understand previous teachers were wonderful but new teachers are still not up to par. There is much chaos and tons of emphasis on fundraising. Very cold environment for children. Not much nourishment as I would expect for children at the tender age of 3. School is terribly expensive and the children do not seem to be socially functional. Very aloof and under transe like atmosphere. I regret selecting this school for my child's preschool experience,. Fortunately, we found another Montessori program that we are starting this summer that is more true to the philosophy and operates in a more loving environment.

This school is truly ahead of the rest. Despite the appearance of not being a structured environment. Montessori is very structured and allows each student to develop at their own pace. Even so, all students are way ahead those at other schools, in all areas of study. The string instrumnets program utilizes the suzuki method. We had our first recital this holiday and we were blown away. Activities go from Art to Swimming. Once a month parent can observe classroom activity. Parents are always welcome on campus for any matter. The Parents Association actively attains new equipment and helps keep the school upgraded. Finally, the proof is in the results. Students from this school continually overachieve. Recently they even had a Rhodes scholar. Need I say more.

The academic program at Alexander is true to its reputation. Although this is a Montessori based school, the students easily carry what they learn to the standard type of school/learning environment. The owner of the school, administrators, faculty and parents are all very caring about all of the children at this school w/o exception. In addition, they are constantly watching out for each childs' progress. Most if not all montessori educators in the greater Miami area have been taught at this school. To complete the program, extra-curricular activities are so abundant it is difficult to select. I have friends that have switched their children out of this school to so called well known schools in Miami and have had to switch back as their children started to take steps back in their education.
