Stranahan High School Reviews

I am graduating from Stranahan this year (2010) and I am truely proud of the magnet programs, clubs, and activities that the school provides. For instance Stranahan provides its Summer Science Heat Program for incomming freshman which is lead by Ms. Shim-Normile, which i attended the summer of my sophmore year, and it was truely exciting.

I received a top-notch honors educations at Stranahan as a Medical Magnet Student, and would have received a good education even if I hadn't been part of the magnet program. The school is one of Broward County's best-kept secrets, a 'ghetto school' with a very low rate of violent incidents; I was safer here than in the suburban middle school in my district, which I attended before going to Stranahan. With the retrospective which (hopefully!) comes with age, I only wish I took better advantage of the opportunities offered me at Stranahan. It deserves more recognition for all it offers.

i am currently a student at stranahan high school. our school is rated one of the best high schools in the nation. As with other high schools we have our problem but for the most part it is a good academic school. our clubs and sports teams are diverse and family oriented.

I attend stranahan high school currently. I am graduating this year. Stranahan has great teachers and horrible teachers. There are a lot of after school programs to be active in. The main problem is the local kids who make the school look bad. But the magnet kids and most of the local are hard working.

The engineering program of this school is great my son is in this program and both of us agree that this has been one of the best decision that could have been made. The school is big so their is no signs of overcrowding at all. It also one of the top wrestling teams in the district he has joined the team and is doing great. For all parents trying to find the right magnet program for your kids choose this school for Medical or Engineering you wont be disappointed. -Proud Parent, Felix E.

The Engineering Magnet program is the best! My son has really found himself at this school and has gotten involved with the Robotics Club as well as signing up for AP Calculus and AP Physics. I wish they had more help in the college counseling office however, as the lady there is always busy and it is hard to find out about scholarships, etc. Good school, very nice people to work with and the teachers do seem to really care about the students.

My daughter is a sophomore this year with a 4.6 grade average. She is very involved with marching band ,my only complaint is that it would be nice to see more recognition of the band. Also, it would be nice if the messages you left for teachers were actually returned. And the principal got out and mingled with the students. show some leadership and show these kids that she cares.

I attend Stranahan High School and I feel it is a good school we have fun in the school but we do learn, we are doing more activities to expand our minds on the subject. The teachers strive the most they can to make the student not leave the school without atleast learning one thing. Now that we have a new principle I hope she's points us in the right direction to make our school have a better grade.I'm also a part of the Marching Band and from my point of the view we are one of the best. Overall, I love my school and I will continue to do my thing to do all for Stranahan High. With more parent involvement I think we could reach our goal.

This school is a magnet school. It offers medical and engineering programs for students wanting to pursue a career in those majors. there is only a few teachers that are able to help your child so your child will need to go to tutoring. Also, there are violence down the stretch. I'm just being truthful. I suggest for your child to choose their friends wisely.

Sranahan High To me is the best high School that I could ever send my children to because to my children it is like a second home. My 3 children 9th, 10th, and 11th, bring home good grades and if I ever have a problem the teachers are known to help you out, they will even take the time to come out to your home to do visits because the teachers at this school really care. I never had any problem with this school. This school is the school that my children and I agree that this is the school that they will be graduating from. They reward the students with prizes and they always have activities that the children could attend to from time to time. This school raises the money to help keep this school on track and ends up giving it back. I just love this school.

This school is an awsome place for children to learn. It has a mixed racial population, and also respects the heritage and diversity of all the students that attend. The overall quality of the school is excellent. Not only are the teachers nice but they are also willing to go the extra mile for the students that truly need help. Although the general upkeep of the school building may not be spotless it is still a healthy learning environment for our kids. I strongly recommend this school for both accademics and athletics.

The school itself is OK except for the fact that the students, especially the incoming freshmen, don't know who the principal is. She stays inside of her office too much she needs to mingle with the students. The website needs to be updated.
