Boulevard Heights Elementary School Reviews

My daughter has been attending BHE for 2 years now. She is a special needs child. This school does not challenge my child to her potential. They under estimate her intelligence, and instead of providing the help she needs, they just provide her with easy non challenging work. They just do not have the time nor the resources for these kinds of children with all the budget cuts, and for this reason she is lacking the education she needs and should be provided. To contact the school principal is very difficult, she is always busy. To contact her teacher is even worst. You get transfered to the voice mail and they never call you back.

I have three daughters (K, 1st & 3rd) at BHE and I (we) love the school, teachers, principal, asst. principal and the way the school is run. We have great communication with all their teachers. Our girls love all the staff, they have 'fun' learning and I appreciate that!

Heard great things about this school and I have to say I'm not impressed. K & 1st Grade Teachers were wonderful. But once they get to testing age that seems to be all that matters - everything else is irrelevant. Also now that the testing is done it seems to be play time. My son has had no homework since the tests. Excuse me school is still in session.

There is a serious lack of communication between parents and teachers. The staff does not go that extra mile for the children. They do not answer phone calls, do not respond to e-hails or notes written by parents with questions or concerns about their children. There is very little homework (which is a requirement for my granddaughter since repetition is essential to her learning style) and I could go on and on.

My son's teacher of his previous school (private) believed that he was not ready for 1st grade yet and he should be held in Kindergarten for another year. Thanks to Boulevard Heights they have proved them wrong and after have him tested they confirmed he was ready to go on to 1st Grade. In 1st Grade my son has received 2 Honor Roll Student's Award for most improved and that makes me very proud of him and so thankful to the school for have giving my child a chance to show that he could succeed. To the teacher I offer my most sincere respect and appreciation for her dedication. Everyone in this school is very dedicated, the Principal and the Assistant to Principal are wonderful, they know the children by name and work along with parents as a team to help get the best out each children. Thanks BHE!

This is my children's fourth year at this school, and it is their home away from home. The teachers and staff are well-trained and genuinely interested in the academic and social welfare of every student. The curriculum is challenging, and recently entire classes were formed for high-achieving and gifted students in more than one grade level. The media center is well-utilized during school hours and for extracurricular activities. The parents of the school support PTA activities, Field Day, and cultural and social presentations weekdays, weeknights and weekends. There are many volunteers who assist the school on field trips, during testing, and on a daily basis in the office. I hope the middle school my children will soon attend can meet the high standards set by BHE.

My oldest has gone to Boulevard Heights since 2nd grade. She is now in 5th. My youngest has gone from kindergarten and is now in 2nd. They have both gotten great teachers every year. The principal is great. Our assistant principal is new to the school, but looks like he will do a good job. The staff in the office is always nice and helpful.

I would like to see the principal of this school walking around the school at least once in a while. And there should also be more exercise incorporated, not just play time but actual physical education.

I am so glad to see that BHE has made the A. I went to this school before there were letter grades for the schools. I have to say that I am very proud of the teachers and staff. I know that everyone does their best here.

My daughter Caridad has had nothing but the best experiences and teachers at this school. She enjoys going to school every single day and gets annoyed when she's sick because I have to call in an absence. She's constantly thinking about her teachers and holds them all very dearly. Whenever there has been a problem I am contacted immediately and I never fear having to drop her off in the morning because for the course of the day I know that she is in good hands. The teachers all seem to push the children so that they can remain on their toes and do their best and that keeps my child quenching for more. There unique teaching abilities have creating a forever useful instrument in my daughter and that's why I think that Boulevard Heights should be an 'A' school.

My child came to this school last year and I am pleasantly surprised what a great school he got in. The organization and teaching is on a high level, especially I would like to mention Mrs.Box and thank her for doing an extraordinary job. This school deserves th 'A' grade .Excellent job!I wish there were more schools and teachers like that out there. Thank you for helping us bring up our kids.
