Ruth K. Broad-Bay Harbor Elementary School Reviews

Bay Harbor is a perfect community school. The parents are involved, the kids are safe, and the teachers are happy. My daughter is in 6th grade, she is in the school since kindergarten. I am so glad they are turning the school into a K-8 school. I hope after the construction they are able to add some extracurricular activities.

I am absolutely happy with the education my child is and has received at Bay Harbour Elem. It is unfortunate that they can not get the Lice Outbreak problem under control, as many students are missing many days of class because of it, which in turn is hurting their grades. Many of the students have been sent home more than 3 times because of lice, with no follow up after. Not only does this hurt our childrens grades it is also not helping to develope their self esteem!

The best school ,sports and after school activities is great

the best school ever!!!!!

Some teachers in this school are truly great.

Exceptional staff and heavy parental involvement. Sports and after school activities are limited,

Ruth K. Broad Bay Harbor Elementary School provides a safe learning environment in which students and parents are treated with respect and care. The entire school staff works as a team to ensure that the students thrive and succeed academically, socially, and emotionally through differentiated instruction. My son had an exceptional kindergarten year in a classroom which provided structure, love and high expectations. He learned to read, write, and utilize his mathematical skills through critical learning opportunities. It is a wonderful feeling to see the students happily walking through the hallway at any time of day and truly making lasting memories at these impressionable ages. Parental involvement at this school is like nothing ever seen before. The parents are constantly working collaboratively with teh school as active partners in each child's education. This unified effort is one the greatest assets that Ruth K. Broad Bay Harbor Elementary School possesses.

My son has been in RKB for kindergarden and 1st grade. I have been happy so far with the quality of education and environment. It is a good school where children feel safe and loved.

We have daughters in 2nd and 5th grade. They are both in 'gifted' classes and we are very happy at their academic education. The atmosphere at school is pretty much relaxed and our experience with their teachers has been very good. They work one on one and communicate with us when necessary. Our only concern is the lack of free time to socialize and relax. Such a demanding education will greatly benefit with a few hours a week of just free time, time to talk and know better your fellow students.

Great teachers too bad they are very slow to recognize and treat bullying. They have tendency to dismiss it all and to bring the blame back to the child being bullied. This does not calm the parent they will find any little fact to not have that child come back instead of having a positive way of dealing with the problem. Extracurricular activities are hard to get in since the children already in have priority to them (chess is limited and available if one child leaves or by principal order).
