Greenglade Elementary School Reviews

My children attend Greenglade Elementary School and I am sad to say that this school continues to disintegrate by the years. The problem starts from the administration and scrolls itself down the ladder to the teachers. Teachers are being hired out favoritism, instead of professional qualities. Teachers are unhappy with the administration and reflect it on their students. Students are being taught out of order, just to cover the 'FCAT', therefore covering the grade for the school. There is no love in teaching, because the teachers have to be concerned only on the scores. Teachers are bothered by the parents involvement. If teachers, parents and students don t work together, nothing can get achieved. Luckily there are still teachers in the school in which your children can still count on, like Madera, Leon, White, and others who you know. I only have one question: WHAT HAS EDUCATION COME TO?

I am very happy with the size of the classes at this school and the teachers. However, I do feel that the school should have a more comprehensive gifted program and not limited to just reading and writing. The gifted students at Greenglade are at a disadvantage to others in near by schools. The fact that there are fewer kids in this school does not mean they don't deserve to have another teacher and a more extensive program. I would also recommend offering after school sports. And please bring back the music room. Please continue to focus on keeping our kids safe while in school by keeping the doors locked, and having school securities walking around the entire campus - inside and outside (you are doing a great job!). I hope my recommendations are taken into consideration for kids to enjoy in the next coming school year.

I am very happy with this school! My two kids have attended since kindergarden. My only feedback for the school is to be more internet friendly in order to post homeworks/assignments especially when kids are out sick. My kids love Ms. Rodriguez and Ms. Madera. This is still a small school with very involved parents! The principal and assistant principal show teamwork between them which is really important. Yolany Amador

My 2 Daughters Attend Greenglade Elementary. I recommend this school to all parents. The Teachers are caring and dedicated. The academic progarms are competitive and challenging. The parents are very involved and always volunteering and many of them are employed at the school

The school should give more contact access to the parents online. They are very bad in return concern parent calls. As a full time single mom I have to request hours off from work to be able to discuss any issue for example (if the students will have a holiday party) with the teachers. Teacher parent contact and access info should improve.

This school was once very parent oriented. Unfortunately, for about 2 or 3 years, the school has become very anti-parent. This is very dissapointing. Especially since I knew the school prior to it becoming such a way. Three years ago it was a school where parents smiled and shared in most school activities with their children. Today, parents are seldom seen within the school.

It's not like it used to be! No more parent-friendly. On the up, very good teachers, with the exmption of some, of course. All and all, it's a shame they don't open up more to parents!

I attended Greenglade in 1987. I still remember my kindergarden teacher there, Mrs. Leon. I visited just recently in 2005 to register my now 4 year old son and Ms. Leon is still there. In the same classroom, with the same great attitude. What does that tell you about the school?

Great school receiving a or b each year. This is our 6th year and no problems. Most teachers are caring, loving and great. Only bad is the school lunch which seems to be the norm at schools.

Our daughter and now our youngest son are attending Greenglade Elem. This is not a perfect school but all the teachers we have encountered so far are dedicated and for the most part organized and have a structured plan for teaching children. So far we have not encountered any behavior problems in any of the classes. As in any school parent involvement is crucial. We feel that as long as we continue to come across teachers such as Mrs. Leon and Mrs. White to name a few, our children will continue to be a part of the public education system.
