Snapper Creek Elementary School Reviews

This is my sixth year as a Snapper Creek parent & I have to say that I am extremely happy. The teachers are wonderful & the office staff are always helpful. My children have received an excellent education at this school & it is not only due to the magnificent teachers but the school's administration.

This school has been a great disappointment to us. The parents are discourage from being involved and the office staff to say the less are rude. The only good thing at this school are the teachers but with their hands tied behind their backs there is not much they can do to excel the academics in the classroom.

The quality of academic programs are excellant. The teachers have always been available for questions from the parents. I really haven't seen any music, arts, sports for the regular school day. The after school program is excellant. There is a very high level of parent involvement available at the school. Parents are always welcome. I can't wait for my one year old to start kindergarden! This is my 5th grader's last year and with mixed feelings about what to expect in Middle.

My daughter attended this school from Kinder to 5th grade (which she graduated from last year). Under Mr. Herman's direction the school was a hidden treasure in a small community within a large city. He created a warm and loving school family. Once the he retired, it took two years for the school to go down hill. The new principal, though well educated and well intentioned, is unable to maintian a school family atmosphere and does not maintain a respectful enviornment either. School bullying increase and teachers lost their vision and warmth. Sadly, although most teachers are very qualified and loving, they are unable to function under such poor leadership.

Snapper Creek is a terrific school. It has great leadership in Melanie Visnich and some excellent teachers. Parents still need to increase their level of involvement but that comes with time and promotion from the PTSA.

This is an excellent learning environment. The principal is readily available and makes great efforts to connect with the children and the parents. The teachers, for the most part, are wonderful. They are kind and helpful. My daughter has atteneded for the past two years and loves her school very much. I wasn't sure when I placed her at our local school, we used to attend Sunset Elementary, and I was concerned with the level of academics being taught. But my daughter has done exceptionally well and has adjusted to her new environment perfectly. The teachers have worked with her at her level, even providing me with guidance and extra actvities to challenge her higher levels of learning. I am very happy with our decision to move her to a smaller, more family oriented atmosphere. My only wish is that more parents would become involved at the school.
