It has great teachers, great activities, and awesome experiences for the students. If you listen to the gossip around the neighborhood, the school seems to have a bad reputation. The truth is, however, there are many highly qualified teachers who care about their students and do a wonderful job educating them. The administration and other staff go out of their way to help students and parents. Those who have a bad impression of the school are usually the ones who have never actually been there. Between my niece and my own children, I have been around Jose Marti for over 15 years. The negative comments made by others are simply untrue- a fight every day? Yeah right! It's funny to me- the people with the most negative opinions are usually those with the least control over their own kids! Teachers and staff were more than helpful in answering questions and making sure that parents were involved. This school had many fights which is like a usual thing that happens in every school but in jose marti it was non stop, everyday their was a fight. Also you would walk in and the way it look it look nasty I mean my daughter told me the bathrooms look nasty, that they never clean them and girls would leave their pad on the floor and it was horrible. Also she had a little problem at school with another kid so me and her dad came to talk to the principle about it and he didn't even bother to say don't worry we'll take care of it. in stead he said we can't do nothing about it.
