Well first of all i Agree with most of the ratings except for the bad ones. I am a student at Lawton Chiles Middle and i am very pleased with my three years in there. The only Complaint that i have is the the bathrooms were dirty most of the time. The teachers here are very well educated and they know what they are doing. I like most of my frinds would spend more years if we have to in this school. I ca say that this is on of the schools that i will really miss when i move on to high school. Lawton Chiles is definitely an excellent middle school for your child to attend to.

Lawton Chiles has some of the best and hardest-working teachers I have ever seen. My child loves Science class and is going on to High School well-prepared. He tells me that there are alot of class interruptions

I am a student there and I love it. It isn't actually an A school maybe just a B but the teachers I had weren't lazy, the field trips were fun and informative, and the school is pretty much clean except for the bathrooms. I might have to change my mind for the 2007-2008 school year considering how many teachers are leaving but overall the school is like any other middle school except that they are stricter then others and that they have no tolerance. One thing about the students there is that they will lie to get their way out of anything and make anyone else look like the bad guy.

My daughter attended for the last three years and frankly she loved it! She was involved in the gifted/honors programs and found most classes challenging and class size was much smaller than the magnet elementary school she attended. I was involved in the PTSA and found a small but dedicated group of parents out to make Lawton Chiles the best. She was lucky enough to be involved in the band and chorus programs with 2 amazing teachers. These programs were as good as any magnet school. I found the administration helpful and available. Most teachers were very good about emailing back when I had questions. I walked the halls many times without problem or fear.

This is a great place! It is true that there have been 3 principals, but 2 have retired and one was promoted! If my kids needed anything, their staff was more than willing to help with reasonable requests. And class sizes were less than 30 while my son attended this past year.

This is a very good school. It has a B as it's state grade. The teachers know what they are teaching. However, some bathrooms need to be cleaned. The school lunch is like all schools not good and not bad. Overall I give this school a 'B'

This is a new school with state of the art programs for Hillsborough county. If a parent is active and participates along with their child or children the school is fantastic.

Terrible school. Had nothing but problems while my child was enrolled at Lawton Chiles. There have 3 principles in the time frame my child attended Lawton Chiles. Classes are maxed out with the minum number of students in classes being 40. Rating Lawton Chiles a 'B' school is a joke!!!! Should be reviewed again by the school board.

I do not know how this school was rated a 'B' school. The turnover in teachers in tremendous and speaking from experience the school should be rated a 'D' school. I don't know where they get these statistics, but I had to pull my child out of the school and transfer him elsewhere. I also know 3 other cases that had the same experience and no longer have their child enrolled in this school.
